Spotting Fake / Scammer / Extortionist Fling Profiles
To start things off, we need to tell you there are a lot of fake profiles on fling sites. But you probably already knew that. What you might not understand is the point of creating fake profiles. Let’s take a look at what a new or mediocre fling website has to overcome…
- Competition for men is high because there are so many fling websites out there (guys dominate the fling dating industry, so they’re the most coveted customers).
- In order to get guys to their site, they must have tons of ATTRACTIVE women.
- Attractive women don’t just show up for the heck of it to a fling dating site. They need a reason to show up.
What happens if a new fling website doesn’t get attractive women to their site? They go out of business. Therefore, creating fake profiles is a smart business idea. With that said, we don’t condone their actions. We absolutely HATE fake profiles. They’re a total annoyance and they are the reason we stay away from many of the sites. But we understand why most of these sites use fake profiles.
Fake profiles are almost always those with pictures of women that appear to be porn stars. The chicks are completely flawless. That’s the first sign it’s a fake profile. The second sign is if there is absolutely no information about that person in the profile description or if the description is very basic, with no info about the city she claims to live in.
Fake Profiles are Annoying…Extortionist Profiles are DAMAGING to Your Finances
You can ignore the fake profiles. They aren’t harmful, just annoying. But if you aren’t careful, there are scams out there that actually are. You could lose out on a bunch of money if you fall for one of the many extortionist scams. Extortionists use online dating sites to spot their prey.
An online dating extortionist is someone that appears to be a regular member but is attempting to get you to give them money. They don’t create profiles with perfect looking women. The chicks in their profiles are usually cute but not hot. They don’t want to make guys think they have no chance with the girl (smart idea).
What they do is hit on guys in cities far away. So let’s say she lives in Boston and you live in Los Angeles. She would flirt with you and act interested. Then she will tell you that she can’t afford to come see you and ask for you to send her money (usually by Western Union).
These scammers are very creative. They’re good at what they do. They never make it obvious that they’re pulling a fast one on you. But you can avoid ever falling for this scam by doing one simple thing…
NEVER GIVE MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU’VE NEVER MET!!
